Acupuncture

Windsor AcupunctureAbout acupuncture:
Acupuncture is a holistic approach to health based on 2,000 years of development and refinement in the East. The acupuncturist uses their knowledge of over 300 acupuncture points to tap into the 14 meridians by using fine, sterile, single use, disposable needles. By doing this, the acupuncturist encourages the body’s healing mechanism and returns the body to a more balanced state of being.

What to expect?

Before your acupuncture treatment, the practitioner will ask the patient a series of questions to establish patterns of health. The tongue will be checked and the pulse will be taken. The information gathered from the questions, tongue, and pulse will then be used to develop a treatment plan.
Many patients do not report pain on the needle insertion; however, one may feel a slight discomfort at the insertion point.  This feeling comes from the trigger of Qi (chee) in the channel.
Acupuncture for addiction will take place in the ear (auricular acupuncture) following established NADA protocol. These treatments take 40 minutes. It is good to do treatments as close together as possible in the beginning.
